September is finally here and the cool air is starting to roll through. This fall, clean and inspect your gutters to prevent potential problems moving in through the winter.
To start, remove the leaves, twigs, and other debris from your gutters. Clogged gutters do not drain properly and the extra weight could cause your gutters to sag. Cleaning your gutters is something you as a homeowner can do and it should be done yearly. Use your garden hose to wash away any additional dirt you could not remove by hand and look closely to ensure water is running without restraint through your downspouts.
Inspect your gutters for dents, cracks, or holes while you are already up close and personal with them. It is important to get any damage repaired or replaced when you find it to maintain the integrity of your gutters and protect your roof!
Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions regarding your gutters. We are available to help make any repairs or replacements to your gutters and downspouts. Be sure to ask how you could benefit from having gutter guards installed at your home and keep checking back here for more home tips from your friends at Findlay Roofing!
